Stuff and things and different stuff.

No need for introductions i think? ready? aaaand.... Pictures!

This one i started about a month ago and then got hidden under a pile of other things. Not much left to finish now apart from to fill in the background clouds. Remember, when in doubt; clouds.

These two guys came from the idea surrounding the digital "Harvest" pic I posted last month. Check it out, there's three different mediums going on there! Three!!! Madness i tells ya...

(Though I've just realised neither of of them are actually holding anything..... Well that's something to put in the next post at least...)

(My photography is rrrrrreally bad but hopefully soon i'll be getting all the boards and canvases so far shot properly so they don't all look noisy and weirdly coloured.)

Below is a piece I've been working on with Shaun Amin and Tom Buddle. It's posca marker on a 100x100cm canvas. The idea being that we each take it in turns to build up the image. So far I think it's going pretty well!

Hopefully should be some big-ish new in the next post if i can stop being so indecisive...

Shop Art @ London Graphic Centre

This week some of my stuff was featured in the London Graphic Centre's "Shop Art" Exhibition. I'm also featured on the website here.  These are a few pics of my pieces that are on show.

I also got a double-page spread in the mini catalogue thing!
(I hhhhhhhhate writing about my work! Also, it's not great that i spelt the epic street artist BLU's name with an 'e' on the end. poor effort.)

There were also a few blank boards put up for people to doodle on. It would've been rude not too....
(the two middle pieces were collaborations with the irritatingly good illustrator Tom Buddle.)

The work is all going to be up for a few weeks more so if you're in London go check it out. There's some really great stuff by loads of people including.....

Framed.

This has to be one of the quickest pieces I've ever done! I picked up the frame from one of the vintage market bits just off Brick Lane in East London just before I moved north. I was told it's a genuine art deco piece (might be ...who knows?) which would mean its about 80 years old.... no pressure then.

As the frame looks amazing on its own I though the best thing to do would be to keep the image as simple as possible. Gold on black? Can't go wrong.

(Check out my insanely classy "feature" wallpaper....jealous aren't ya?)

Magazines and a digital pic.....

This time I have a really good excuse for why it's been so long since my last post! I spent the first few weeks of May looking for somewhere to live, then packing and then the pain of actually moving. Last time was easier because all my work was on paper and in sketchbooks. This time round I had to drag about piles of canvases and wooden boards! Enough excuses, at the start of this week i finally managed to unpack all my my art stuff and start working again.

First up is the premier edition of the Story Magazine! Put together by Sophie Allen and Richard Doran this is an awesome new mag that's full of art, music and culture...stuff! And I'm in it!! I got two full page illustrations and also a small editorial portrait. Check out the full online version at their website here.

Next up is an illustration I did over the last few days. Hadn't done any digital stuff in a while so I thought I'd knock something out.

The pic on the left is my rough sketch and the right is the final drawn version (done on bristol board with copic multiliners)

Then i vectorised and coloured it with Adobe Illustrator.

And finally i moved it into Photoshop to tweak the colours and add various textures.
Didn't come out too badly!

Hopefully another update soon!

Should be starting a bigger canvas soon so stay tuned...

Thirty-one days later.

Another month after the last post? poor effort...

I've had a bit of a brain block for a few weeks so I've not done quite as much work as i'd have liked but here goes...
First up, i tried my hand at a bit of product embellishment. I think it turned out pretty well though i could've picked an easier frame for my first attempt! As per usual its all montana spray, posca paint markers and acrylic paint.

I've been working on the fifth character in my Elemental series for a while now but seem to have gotten stuck. The only progress I've made on it is filling in the globe.

So that I didn't spend (any more) hours just staring at it wondering how to finish it I started looking for other things to work on. The first is mostly just a test to see how the broken buildings look in paint instead of purely ink. The second is a piece I started about six months ago and since then has just sat in a corner, half-finished. It was one of the first pieces where I started playing around with the paint marker over acrylic paint.

And finally, because after doing those two pics i STILL couldn't finished the character canvas, I did a few random sketchbook pics. I stuck with the same cast but tried to change up the style. I quite like how they came out. Might see how they look on canvas or even as a two colour print?

aaaaaaaaaaand that's your lot.
Hopefully I'll post something before another month's past!

A months worth of work!

These are a selection of pics that I'v been working on since the last proper post. Well, the bits worth showing at least...
It's a mixture of half-done things, ideas for pieces and sketchbook scribblings.

Below is the piece I'm working on at the moment. This one's 24x12". Same deal as usual; arcylic, posca and montana spray.

nearly done....
